Is the Disease too Big to Cure? We often feel overwhelmed by all the problems in the world and find ourselves paralyzed; the problem feels too big, so we do nothing. We don't realize BIG PROBLEMS are solved by one person at a time. People are like dominoes lined up. when one is made strong it does not pull the people around them down. When we strengthen one person to make the right choices, all the people in their circle have the potential of being strengthened. The one domino stops falling and stops bringing others down with it...( continued below)
A Heartfelt Thank You – and an Urgent Invitation to Join the Team in 2026
First, a huge thank-you to every family who stepped up in 2025 with sponsorships that kept food on the table, children in school, and tin roofs overhead for single mothers in Mathare, Kenya. Because of you, lives were saved and hope was restored.
2026 is almost here. Will you join the team?
When I speak with these mothers and hear how they’re fighting to feed their children and keep a roof over their heads, I can’t look away. I think about my own life — the comforts I enjoy, the little luxuries I could easily live without — and I know: if I have to work a little harder or skip a few unnecessary things, I will. Because no mother should have to choose between feeding her child today and having a place to sleep tomorrow.
These are not lazy women. They are warriors — hand-washing clothes, taking any odd job they can find, often alongside their own children who work to help the family survive. Most have been abandoned by the fathers of their children, a heartbreakingly common story in Kenya.
Through Wanted Alive, we refuse to just treat symptoms. Yes, we meet urgent needs — rent, food, school fees, doctor bills, — but our deeper mission is to help cure the root cause: a global mindset that treats sex as recreation and new life as disposable.
The disease is the lie that consequences don’t matter, that a child in the womb isn’t a person worthy of protection, that “choice” can ever justify ending a beating heart.
The cure begins with truth and love.
We teach young people that real love is sacrificial, that life — born and unborn — is sacred, and that every choice we make ripples into the lives of others.
Right now, our hands are full keeping families alive day-to-day. But with your sponsorship in 2026, we can free up resources to go deeper — to reach the next generation before the cycle repeats.
This problem is not too big.
Big problems are solved one life at a time.
When one mother is strengthened, her children are strengthened.
When one child learns to value life, an entire circle of family and friends can be changed.
One standing domino stops a thousand from falling.
And the beautiful truth? It costs so little to stand one domino upright.
Rent for a small home in Mathare: $25 – $50 per month (Many of us spend that in a week on coffee or takeout.)
Food for a mother and two children: as little as $120 per month (Less than most of our streaming services and subscriptions combined.)
For the price of a few small sacrifices, you can give an entire family stability, dignity, and hope for an entire year.
If everyone reading this who lives in comfort joined together — even with modest, faithful gifts — we could transform hundreds of lives in Mathare and begin healing the deeper disease worldwide.
Will you sponsor a family in 2026?
Together, we don’t just save lives.
We change mindsets.
We break cycles.
We prove that love is stronger than abandonment, that life is always worth protecting, and that no problem is too big when God’s people say “yes” one at a time.
With gratitude and hope,
Mrs.Valderrama
(President @ Wanted Alive)
P.S. A $145–$170 monthly gift each month (or $1,740–$2,040 for the full year) completely sponsors one family — rent, food, (minus school fees, and medical care.) Whatever you can give makes a real difference. Thank you for considering it with all your heart.

Our First Baby Save and Mother Renewed
This is the woman who first reached out to us from Kenya, Africa! She has become a Dear and Faithful Team Member to Wanted Alive, helping with the other women. She has a son in school and then her youngest son she chose LIFE for named Eliano. This is the second family from the slums of Kenya, Africa we started helping. She along with her 2 children were suffering homelessness, she also was seeking an abortion at the time we met her. Unfortunately, when we found her again to help her she was not pregnant. That did not stop us from desiring to meet the needs she has. Her 2 children need their school paid for which is approx. $160 each for the year and includes a school uniform as well as a lunch for each day of school! Their rent is about $25 a month, and food $120 a month.

From a Dark Pit to a Bright Hope
This family has gone through much hardship. The mother suffered an accident which damaged her back. She found herself in such desperation that she began to sell herself for survival. She was in so much discomfort from her back injury she regretfully contemplated selling her young daughter so she could afford her treatment. She became pregnant and our local Wanted Alive Team crossed paths with her and offered her hope and a way out of her terrible circumstances. She is now a new person and so thankful to be delivered out of her despair and terrible situation! She had a healthy baby girl and chose to name her after Wanted Alive's President! Her rent is about $25 a month, food $120 a month, and school for the year 2026 for her oldest daughter approx. $160 which includes school uniform and a lunch each day of school.

Hopelessness Turned to Joy
This Dear mother met face to face with hopelessness when she discovered herself pregnant and out of wedlock...she knew her father would kill her if he discovered this even though she was in her twenties. She had set out to try to find work to help her mother who had been abandoned by her father along with her six other younger siblings. While she was away from her mother's home she met the wrong man who after impregnating her wanted nothing to do with her ( a very common issue in this part of the world). Knowing it would be deadly for her to return home at the risk of her father seeing her 6 months pregnant she decided to take her own life by drinking poison. Thanks be to the Creator of all who sees all, and knows every life created is precious ; He had the right people nearby at the right time! These kind strangers got her to a hospital and her life was saved and her unborn baby's life was unharmed!!! They happened to know Dear Eunice (our local volunteer) and reached out to Wanted Alive to see if we could maintain this woman's needs, as most families in this area have enough of a struggle meeting their own families daily needs. We could not turn her away and also wanted to know the needs of her own struggling and abandoned mother. Choices are good and at Wanted Alive we exercise our free-will to choose love.
As you can see, she gave birth to a healthy baby boy. Her rent is about $35 a month,
food is $100 a month.

Meet a Resilient Mother Supported by Our Programs
This dedicated mother has endured profound hardships throughout her life. Orphaned at approximately 14 years of age and married soon after, she gave birth to 14 children, seven of whom tragically passed away. She continues to care for her seven surviving children, including six minors, while one adult daughter (Family #4 above) has her own family.
Her husband abandoned her for another woman but has intermittently returned to the home, subjecting her to physical & sexual abuse. In a recent incident, he committed a severe assault that nearly cost her life. She escaped him and required hospitalization to recover. We were very heartbroken to hear the news, of what happened to her, and it took time for us to find her. During her absence, her husband remained in the home with two of the children, creating an unsafe environment that prevented her return.
With our organization's assistance, we located her and facilitated the reunification of all her children in a new, secure home. Prior to this support, she and her family lacked essential items such as bedding, adequate clothing, and basic household necessities. We promptly provided these resources as soon as possible.
She expresses profound gratitude for the aid received.
Though only in her early 50s, she sees herself as Elderly. The life span in Kenya is about 62 years old, reflecting the demanding realities of life in her community.
Your support enables us to offer critical safety, stability, and essentials to families like hers, helping them rebuild with dignity and hope.
Rent is about $25 a month, $160 for food a month
We are waiting for the update on her children's school fees.
Total monthly cost $185

A Story of Hope and Resilience
This courageous mother has faced significant challenges throughout her life, including an abusive relationship with her husband, who is no longer present and previously caused her severe injuries requiring hospitalization.
We connected with her following the devastating floods in her region in 2024, during which she lost everything. In the aftermath, h three of her children were temporarily placed in an orphanage, and she was pregnant and in despair, even contemplating ending the pregnancy.
Despite our organization's own funding constraints at the time, we committed to supporting her by providing essential physical needs. We secured affordable rental housing for her at approximately $25 per month and supplied food to sustain her through the pregnancy.
Later in her pregnancy, complications necessitated bed rest in a local hospital from late August until early November, when a cesarean section was performed at around 37 weeks. We are thankful that her baby was born healthy. She required an additional week in the hospital to recover from post-surgical complications.
Her three children have since been reunited with her and remain under government authority, which covers their annual schooling fees. Assistance may be needed for school uniforms, pending further updates. Her eldest 16-year-old son has also been reunited to her (He is next to her in the photo)
Current Update (2025): Today, she and her five children are doing well, though she has taken on the added responsibility of caring for her aging mother.
Your contributions help us extend vital support—offering housing, nutrition, medical care, and family reunification—to mothers and families in crisis, fostering stability and renewed hope.

A Story of Resilience and Triumph
This courageous mother has overcome profound physical and emotional hardship. The father of her four children subjected her to severe abuse, inflicting injuries that resulted in the loss of teeth and significant bodily harm, before abandoning the family entirely.
Such cycles of violence and abandonment are tragically common in the communities we serve. By alleviating ongoing financial pressures—such as monthly rent and essential bills—we aim to empower these women and redirect resources toward educating the next generation, helping to interrupt this harmful pattern.
The immediate consequences of this crisis were devastating: the mother exhausted her limited savings on medical treatment, leaving her unable to cover her teenage son's school fees. In her community, exclusion from education represents a profound setback, often leading to deep despair and diminished prospects for the future. When the school threatened to expel him, the young man expressed his hopelessness to administrators, revealing that his father had deserted the family and his mother was striving tirelessly to provide. He confided that being turned away might drive him to end his life.
Upon learning of this desperate situation, our dedicated field operations manager—despite facing poverty herself—took decisive action to secure the necessary funds, ensuring the boy could remain enrolled.
Today, this mother has become an enthusiastic and invaluable volunteer for Wanted Alive, contributing with remarkable commitment and gratitude for the support provided. Our assistance in bringing her rent current has, in her own words, restored her hope.
Her son, an outstanding A+ student with a strong aptitude for mathematics and science, continues to pursue his education with renewed possibility.
Your support enables us to intervene in moments of crisis, provide stability, and foster long-term change—transforming despair into opportunity for mothers and children alike.
Schools for teens in this area are boarding schools, so their cost is heavy on families. her eldest son's school is approx, $523 for the year (includes room and board)
School fees for her remaining children will be approx.$370 for the year.
Her rent is approx. $40 a month
Monthly food $160
Total yearly $2,400 (not including school fees)
Family 8
We first met this remarkable woman in 2024, when she was seven months pregnant and already proving to be a valuable volunteer for Wanted Alive! Generously contributing her time and effort to support our missions.
At that time, her husband was working diligently, yet systemic challenges—rooted in poverty exacerbated by political and economic factors—limited the family's ability to secure adequate nutrition. This hardship became evident when she experienced pain, prompting a medical consultation that revealed an infection, subsequently treated successfully. She was also managing elevated blood sugar and blood pressure levels.
With timely assistance from our organization, we provided access to medical care and essential food supplies, ensuring she received sufficient protein and nutrients to support a healthy pregnancy. The family includes four children, with a fifth on the way.
We are delighted to share that she later gave birth to a healthy baby boy.
Current Update (2025): She continues to be an active volunteer, offering meaningful help to our programs while raising her five children. The family still faces ongoing economic difficulties and relies on sustained support to meet basic needs, including nutrition and healthcare.
Your generous contributions enable us to provide critical food assistance, medical support, and encouragement to committed families like hers, helping them thrive despite persistent challenges.
Education represents a significant annual financial challenge for the families we serve. We are committed to alleviating this burden by assisting with school fees wherever possible.
We will provide an update shortly once we receive the confirmed costs for the 2026 school year, covering four of the five children in this family.
Your donations directly enable us to invest in the education of these children, offering them opportunities for a brighter future and contributing to lasting positive change in their lives.
Monthly food bill = $160
Total yearly = $1,920 (not including school fees)
Young Mother holding her newest son, her own mother in green coat and siblings as well as her first born sit near her.
We first learned of this young mother's urgent need when she was 18 years old and in the early stages of pregnancy. Under pressure from the child's father, she had taken an abortion pill. Fortunately, our dedicated Field Operations Manager in Kenya became aware of the situation in time to rush her to a hospital, where medical staff successfully administered a reversal protocol. This prompt action saved her baby's life.
Later in the pregnancy, she suffered a fall that necessitated an emergency cesarean section at approximately 30 weeks gestation.
This precious baby boy—her second child—was born healthy, and in a touching gesture of gratitude, she named him after our organization's Vice President.
Today, she is maturing responsibly and thriving while living with her own mother and siblings. Recognizing the broader family needs, we have extended support to her mother, a single parent raising five children and now helping to care for two grandchildren, as she navigates similar economic challenges.
Your contributions make these life-saving interventions and ongoing family support possible, offering hope, stability, and the opportunity for brighter futures to young mothers and their children.
We will provide an update shortly once we receive the confirmed costs for the 2026 school year, covering the school age children in this family.

A Journey from Despair to Healing
Our team learned of this 24-year-old young mother overwhelmed by exhaustion and despair regarding her pregnancy.
She had contemplated terminating the pregnancy for several compelling reasons:
The man responsible for the pregnancy abandoned her upon learning of it, leaving her to raise her 9-year-old child alone.
Attempts to secure casual employment to cover rent and provide for her daughter were thwarted by frequent illness. Unable to pay, she was evicted by her landlord and returned to her widowed mother's home.
Her mother, raising five children single-handedly, had seen all of them drop out of school due to unpaid fees. Two daughters married early amid severe hardship. The family's ongoing struggles led Eunice to feel that another child would place an unbearable burden on them, prompting thoughts of abortion or even ending her own life along with the unborn baby.
Upon learning of her situation, we immediately began providing essential support for and extending assistance to her mother and siblings. This intervention brought a profound change of heart; as she grew hopeful and eager to welcome her child.
Tragically, eight months into her pregnancy, she experienced severe pain and went into premature labor. Despite medical efforts, the baby could not be saved. Eunice required an extended hospital stay to recover her health and endured deep grief and discouragement following the loss.
Today, she is gradually recovering and doing better. She continues to care for her 9-year-old daughter and requires ongoing support. Her widowed mother also needs assistance to sustain the family and provide for her five children.
Your compassionate donations enable us to offer timely aid in moments of crisis, providing not only material needs but also emotional encouragement and hope to vulnerable mothers and families facing overwhelming challenges.
